12. La storia della ISO
Il progetto ISO nasce per mezzo del suo fondatore Renzo Rivolta, nato a Desio nel 1908, e inizialmente titolare della Isothermos con sede a Genova. La Isothermos fu fondata nel 1942 con attivitą che spaziavano dalla costruzione di gruppi frigoriferi al materiale ferroviario (come le "boccole" dei tram di Milano). Subito dopo la fine del secondo conflitto mondiale la sede viene trasferita a Bresso alle porte di Milano quando il Comm. Rivolta rileva dall'ing. Scarpa (delle officine Giesse) progetti e catena di montaggio del Furetto.
