4. La Moto-Rêve Genève
|
Even connoisseurs of the vintage motorcycle scene often don´t know too much about Moto-Rêve.
The 100th birthday of the company, therefore is good chance to take a glimpse on this marque.
You find the result of my studies on this homepage. The register of the "Schweizer Verkehrshaus" in Luzern shows you that there where 61 different more or less successfull motorcycle factories. Most of them disappeared in the 20th or during the world economic crisis.
One of them is Moto-Rêve.
The firm existed from 1905-1925.

According to one magazine Masashi Ito, founder of Marusho was born March 16, 1922. The author didn't think it odd to then say that he worked from 1930-1935 at Soichiro Honda's automobile repair shop. In a more authoritative article Ito is said to have been born in 1913 (since backed up by another source), and that Honda was 6 years older. |
