24. Rokon Scout and Two wheel Drive Motorcycles
|
In the 1950s, a California inventor named Charles Fehn set out to build the ultimate off road vehicle. It had to go anywhere and be a rugged workhorse. With this in mind a two-wheel drive vehicle with hollow wheels was designed and produced. Some call it a bike but the name Mototractor more closely identifies it.

26. Rolfe Motorcycles
|
Rolfe motorcycles were built in Bridge Street, Smethwick. The motorcycles were presumably name after Rolfe Street, which crosses Bridge Street. The motorcycles were produced from 1911 until 1914, and were only made in small numbers. Both singles and V twins were built, and a prototype cyclecar was developed in 1913. |

29. Roper Motorcycles
|
John Roper is listed in the 1902 Wolverhampton Red Book as a manufacturer of cycle fittings in Dudley Road.
Between 1901 and 1905 he built a small number of motorcycles using the 'Roper' name. They were simple machines, with no gearbox, and a direct belt drive.
The business later moved to Upper Villiers Street, Wolverhampton. |

40. Rudge Wedge Motorcycles
|
Harry Rudge was the eldest son of Daniel Rudge, who founded Rudge cycles. After working for Humber in Wolverhampton, he joined Mr. C. Wedge to form Rudge Wedge & Company in 1891. |
