| 15. Shacklock Motorcycles

| Mr. C. H. Shacklock sold motor vehicles from his Manby Street premises in Wolverhampton, including American Locomobile steam cars. It seems that he built several motorcycles including the one described in this article. In 1916 he designed and built a motorcycle with a transverse 'V' twin engine, friction, then final chain drive, and enclosed moving parts. A friction disc was moved across the face of a driven disc to give a number of gear ratios. |

| 16. Sharratt Motorcycles

| John Sharratt was a cycle manufacturer, based at Carters Green, West Bromwich. In 1911 he built a one-off motorcycle, with a 4½hp. engine, and a 3-speed hub gear. In 1920 his company, J. Sharratt & Sons began to produce motorcycles made from readily available parts. They were built by his sons Gilbert and Gordon, after Gilbert returned from the armed forces in 1919. |

Compared to the Lambretta , there is little accurate information on the history of Siambretta and, as a way to understand well the birth of this legend Argentina , please read this first Lambretta history.

Back in 1954, the company SIAM (Society for American Industrial Machinery ), Torcuato Di Tella Engineer , made a deal with Italian firm to build Lambretta scooters creating what at first division was known as Siam , Lambretta . The idea of industrial growth forecast and progress to the old Di Tella motivated to make what he called "the Ford Argentina " and was not too bad , because it was only necessary to Siam announced he was going to make the scooter Siambretta for that people scored on the waiting list of dealers paying it in advance. That is, people were booked into dealerships, when Siam had not yet begun to install the factory.
