Yesterdays
The first test drives were made around X-mas 1947. In1948 Riedel found a production factory in IMMESTADT (Bavaria).
IMME is a German word for BEE, and the logo and name for the motorcycles was born.
Production started in 1949, but only 80 were made in the first year. |

In the early 1950's, the French aircraft builders S.N.C.A.N., or Societe Nationale de Construction AeroNautique, began work on an unorthodox "auto-scooter" using aeronautical design principles. Introduced as the Inter at the Paris Show in the fall of 1953 by the distributors A. E. M. W., or Ateliers Electro-Mechaniques de la Seine of Saint-Ouen, it was a kindred spirit to the Messerschmitt KR-175, which was also derived from aircraft practice. |

The Invincible JAP is one of the most recognisable Australian bikes of the 1920s. Unlike many other makes, they were all pretty-much the same! JAP engine (most often the 1000cc twin, sometimes the 770, rarely a single), Burman gearbox, Messenger No. 1 saddle, home-grown Excelsior/Henderson copy forks, Edwards Brothers saddle tanks all attached to a pretty conventional frame supported on 28 x 3 wheels. |

According to Tragatsch, the Ivy machines were made in Aston Cross, Birmingham, England 1908 to 1932. However, Gavin Newman gives the dates as 1907-1934. He also mentions that in addition to building some 6000 motorcycles, the firm manufactured its own front suspension, carburettors and sidecars. |
