5. BROUGH SUPERIOR 11-50 MOTORCYCLE WITH DUSTING SIDECAR
|
This Brough Superior is one of several purchased by the Victorian Police Force prior to World War 2 and fitted with a Dusting sidecar. The bike ultimately wound up in the famous Birdwood Mill Museum in South Australia before being purchased in the early 1980's and immaculately restored by the present owner. In 2002 the speedo drive and cable were replaced, the wheel rims rechromed and new tyres fitted. The 11-50 was characterised by the slogan "The machine chosen by the Australian and Canadian Mounted Police" and this motorcycle-sidecar combination, having seen service with the Victorian Police, justifies this claim.

The sidecar body is by Hollandia (c1955).
The sidecar frame is Brough - the original body is missing. |
