The Association exists to promote the restoration, maintenance and use of those New Imperials that have survived since the Company closed in 1939; we can offer advice and information on all New Imperial models from the Association's membership of about 250 world-wide. New Imperial’s first motorcycle appeared in 1901; it had the engine mounted in front of the handlebars above the front wheel, and the transmission consisted of a leather belt which drove the front wheel
