K1200gt..Is there and easy solution to separate the quick release connector from the fuel line without destroying and having to replace the entire fuel line

I ride a 2003 K1200RS with 25,000 miles on it. I occasionally get a serious front end shutter when hitting a good sized bump in the road and am riding with light touch on the handlebars. Is this possibly due to a worn steering damper?
